Ingredients:
1 organic apple, chopped into bite sized pieces
1 Tbsp sunflower seed butter (or any nut/seed butter)
1/2 Tbsp raw organic Cacao*
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp Maca powder*
dash of good quality Sea Salt
a few Tbsp hemp seeds, optional
sprinkle of ground flax seed, optional
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients into a bowl, mix, and enjoy!
Why these ingredients?
- Raw Cacao is chock full of minerals, like magnesium – which most people are low in, and antioxidants.
- Maca is an adaptogen, meaning it helps our bodies to repair from the effects of stress.
- Cinnamon has been shown to help stabilize blood sugar
- Sunflower seed butter or nut butters are tasty and add some healthy fat – fats help slow digestion and lower the glycemic impact of fruit-based meals.
- Apples are a good source of Fiber (insoluble and soluble), Phytochemicals (quercetin, catechin, chlorogenic acid, anthocyanin), Vitamin C, and pectin.
- Hemp seeds are rich in omega 3, protein and fiber. Add them if you feel better with higher fiber meals.
